Ensamble Vocal Contraluz
Venezuelan VOCAL GROUP founded on 1988 (Maracaibo city) that performs Venezuelan and International musical academic repertoire, that has arrived to a 25th aniversary of sustained and distinguished musical work characterized by high performance standards.
The Ensamble Vocal Contraluz has a consolidated experience of regional and national concerts and festival performances. It has participated in international festivals such as Santiago-Cuba (1999), receiving special invitations from other different festivals, actually in the interest of international experiences. The Ensamble Vocal Contraluz´s
main objective is to create, to perform and to divulgate Venezuela´s
folk music diversity and other music genres by means of the polyphonic
richness,
highlighting the rhythmic patterns, cadencies and characteristic
expressiveness of the music it performs. CONTRALUZ has a wide musical repertoire ranging from European
renaissance to contemporary music, such as American pop-music, spirituals, Latin-American folklors and others. Its founder conductor, Dr. Angel Chacín Ríos,
has created most of the SATB arrangements performed by the ensamble, making a worthy contribution to Venezuela´s
music and other musical genres as well. As the Fundación Ensamble Vocal CONTRALUZ, with high vocation and with the venezuelan identity that caracterizes this ensemble, it pursuits its objectives for the excelence of vocal poliphonic music . Also it contributes to divulgate the art of singing as the artistic expression that improves peoples´quality of life, strengthes human values and cultural bonds. Since 2009, CONTRALUZ is an estrategic aliance to the Proyecto Centro Zuliano para el Arte del Canto (CZAC).
